First up in our series of Season Previews: Germany🇩🇪️, 1st and 3rd for the women and men, respectively in last season's Nations Cup. Olympic medalists 🥇🥈🥉 and depth should make them the team to chase 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ once again when the #newseason starts on December 2.
Going into the new season, the team at the top of the heap once again is undoubtedly, as usual…Germany. Both the men’s and women’s teams return untouched by post-Olympic retirements with rosters led by Olympic medalists.

Teams are migrating to the Scandinavian snow belt in anticipation of the #newseason. Although conditions are not quite perfect; the🇸🇮️ Slovenians are especially excited to be opening the season at #home.

Huge wind and rain storms in the past several days blocked the road between Sappada and Forni Avoltri and severely damaged the Carnia International Biathlon Center in Forni Avoltri that has hosted many IBU events and is used for training by the Italian and other national teams. As you can see from these photos, huge trees down, roller tracks destroyed, wax cabins demolished and more. In a Facebook post that included these photos, Italian️🇮🇹Junior National Team Coach Mirco Romainin said, "We are on the ground, but we will get up again. And we will do it soon. Winter is near and we all need the closeness of everyone right now. Thanks to those who are thinking about these days and have already given availability to help us. We do not give up!"
